Ashley Hennessey, M.S., OTR/L

Bio

Ashley is an Occupational Therapist who grew up in Tri-Cities Washington. Her brother has Down Syndrome and she grew up immersed in the community for those with disabilities, working with ages birth to 21 in various capacities prior to going to graduate school. She earned her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Washington University with a background in psychology and interdisciplinary studies. She has experience treating clients with a variety of diagnoses across the lifespan in settings including home health, inpatient, skilled nursing, early intervention, and schools. Ashley has experience with sensory processing, autism, down syndrome, developmental delay, physical disabilities, cerebral palsy, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. She has interest in continued development of skills related to sensory and feeding, trauma informed care, and ASD specific certifications to better serve children in the community. 

 

She is passionate about meeting children where they are at and helping them develop skills that are functional and valuable to the family. She values a child-lead play based approach and prioritizes parent education and collaboration to promote progress towards goals. She is so excited to be joining the Little Peas Therapy team and looks forward to developing the Occupational Therapy department!
